Charles C. Schuch, 88, of Lyons, Ohio, died Sept. 29, 2013, at Swanton Health Care.
Chuck worked as an assembler for GM Powertrain for 20 years and was a World War II Army veteran. He was a member of the VFW #7574 Lyons Post, Lyons Volunteer Fire Department and Lyons Christian Church where he served as a deacon, elder and trustee.
Chuck enjoyed gardening and fishing, but most of all spending time with his family and friends.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Norma; son, Douglas (and Pam) of Wauseon, Ohio; two daughters, Linda (and Richard “Sam”) Gleckler of Lyons and Pat Staples of Bellevue, Ohio; a sister, Audrey Petersen; grandchildren Brett and Shannon Gleckler, Branden Gleckler, Lyndsay Staples, Ben and Brittany Staples, Tyler and Brittany Schuch and Adam Schuch; great-grandchildren, Sydney and Nathan Gleckler, Bradley Betschman and Emma Staples.
He was preceded in death by his brothers Ivan, William and Paul Schuch; and sisters Mildred Hoover, Vera Baylis, Luella Gilbert, Grace Booth, Mary Buckles and Ellen Palmer.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. until noon Saturday, Oct. 5, at Lyons Christian Church, 138 E. Morenci St., Lyons, followed by funeral services at noon, with Pastor Paul Bomeli officiating.
