Paul E. Speiser, 88, of Leesburg, Fla., and Eagle River, Wis., died April 5, 2007 in Florida.
He was born Jan. 4, 1919, the son of Phillip F. and Florence E. (Martin) Speiser.
Paul was a long time resident of Hartford, Wis., before he moved to Eagle River and wintered in Leesburg. He worked for West Bend Outboard–Chrysler Outboard for 33 years. He served his country in the Army Air Force during World War II, and was Past Master of Hartford Masonic Lodge #120 F&AM.
Paul enjoyed hunting and fishing, and loved flower and vegetable gardening.
Paul is survived by his wife, Merle, of Eagle River; his children, Rae L. (and Roxanne) Speiser of South Dakota, Paul K. (and Sharon Ann) Speiser of Hartford, and Connie M. Speiser of Hartland; eight grandchildren, Anthony Speiser, Rachel (and Jeremy) Lacy, Michelle M., Paul M., Ryan P. and Juliana C. Speiser, Amy (and Michael) Brehmer and Matthew Klink; two great-grandchildren, Grace and Ethan; a step-daughter, Maureen (and Tom) Smith of Morenci, Mich.; eight step-grandchildren; 11 step-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Paul was preceded in death by his first wife, Wanda (Hintom); his brother, John (and Ruth) Speiser; an infant daughter, Betty Ann; and step-daughter, Mary Lou Keller.
Funeral services were April 11 at Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home, with Rev. Brian Kundinger officiating. Burial followed at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.
