Harvey J. Beaverson, 86, of rural Fayette, Ohio, died May 22, 2013, at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home in Archbold, Ohio, where he had been a resident for a few weeks.
He was born Feb. 26, 1927, in Fulton County, Ohio, the son of Earl C. and Ilva V. (Snyder) Beaverson. Harvey married Nancie Falor on June 8, 1952, in Swanton, Ohio, and she survives.
Harvey lived in Fayette since his early youth. He served in Korea as a member of the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Harvey had a sincere passion for farming, and his life-long career included both livestock and crop farming. He was a member of the Lauber Hill Reformed Mennonite Church.
In addition to his wife, Harvey is survived by three children, Beverly (and Larry) Ledyard of Wauseon, Ohio, Daryl (and Joni) Beaverson of Morenci, Mich., and Paul (and Jeri Sue) Beaverson of Fayette; two sisters, Rosemary (and Robert) Beehler of Ontario, Canada, and Eileen Turner of Texas; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Marion, Jon and James.
Funeral services are scheduled at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 25, at Lauber Hill Reformed Mennonite Church near Pettisville, Ohio, with Alan Bankert and Jim Basinger officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation is scheduled from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Eagle Funeral Home-Barrett Chapel in Fayette.
