Jeanette Joy Cox, 90, of Fayette, Ohio, died May 11, 2013, at Mercy Hospital of Defiance, Ohio.
She was born Aug. 2, 1922, in Lenawee County, Mich., to Lenneth S. and Ruth (Keller) Schoonover. She married Denver Glen Cox on July 7, 1945, in Edon, Ohio, and he preceded her in death May 14, 1990.
Jeanette was a 1941 graduate of Morenci High School. She was a member of the Fayette Christian Church-Disciples and served as a Sunday School teacher at the former United Brethren Church in Fayette. She enjoyed bowling, reading and playing cards, and was an avid Detroit Tigers baseball fan.
Jeanette is survived by two sons, Allen Cox of Fayette, and Stan (and Mary) Cox of Defiance; six grandchildren, Heather, Hope, Hillary, Noah, Josh and Zach; and six great-grandchildren, Brendan, Chloe, Xzavier, Alyias, Olivia and Graysen.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael Cox; three sisters, Garnet Keller, Betty Marzolf and Helen Kohler; and her brother, Arthur Schoonover.
Funeral services are planned at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, at Eagle Funeral Home-Barrett Chapel in Fayette, with Rev. Gene Sugg officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant View Union Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday.
