Marjorie Orban, 91, of Tucson, Ariz., died May 5, 2013.

Marge was born and raised in Michigan, the daughter of Henry and Winifred Myerholtz. She attended Morenci High School and graduated from Michigan Agricultural College (now Michigan State University). She followed in her mother’s and grandmother’s footsteps and became a teacher.  She taught in Manchester and Cass City, Mich. In 1947 she married Eugene Orban, and within a few years established a home in North Morenci.

Married for 60 years, they raised 10 children and also sponsored refugee families through Catholic Social Services.  As the children grew older, she returned to teaching. She taught at Morenci Area High School until she retired, and remained in contact with many former students for more than 30 years.

Marge and Gene moved to Prescott, Ariz., where she taught at Yavapai Community College. She also earned a degree from New York University during “retirement” as she was still passionate about education. They moved to Albuquerque, N. M., and enjoyed flower gardening, reading and extensive traveling. She spent her later years in Tucson.

Marge is survived by children James, Liz, Susan, Thomas, Deborah, Rebecca, Cecelia, John and Paul Orban, and Margaret Walker.

She was preceded in death by her husband and a grandson, James Clay Orban.

She will be buried at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Mich.
