Iola Jean Mitchell, 79, of Muskegon, Mich., died March 20, 2007.
She was born March 28, 1927, in Morenci, Mich., to Charles and Olive (Drake) Fletcher. She married Ollie Mitchell on Oct. 20, 1946, and he preceded her in death in 1992.
Iola was an accountant for Adrian Glass Co. and Scien-Temp Corp., until retiring in 1983. She was a member of Unity United Methodist Church, and past accountant for Unity UMC. She enjoyed photography, painting and gardening.
Iola is survived by two sons, Steve (and Shelly) Mitchell of Muskegon and Brian (and Terry) Mitchell of Pennsylvania; two daughters, Linda (and Bud) Lamb of Muskegon and Diana (and Butch) Johnson of Illinois; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Delora Ehlinger and Sarah Johnson, both of Morenci; two sisters-in-law, Virginia (and Cecil) Rye of Alabama and Gertie Mitchell of Adrian; two brothers, Rex (and Ruby) Fletcher of Florida and Elwood Fletcher of Adrian; and very special friend and companion, Al Longnecker of Fremont.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Joseph in 1990; and a granddaughter, Tina Puffer, in 2006.
Funeral services were March 24 at Clock Chapel in Muskegon with pastor Nancy Besemer officiating. Burial was in E. Dalton-Oakhill Cemetery.
