Alice Kingsley, 89, of Adrian, Mich., died March 20, 2007 in Adrian.
She was born Sept. 11, 1917, in Hillsdale County, to Andrew F. and Goldie I. (Cooper) Bowers. She married Harry A. Kingsley on Aug. 29, 1937, in Hudson, Mich., and he preceded her in death April 7, 1981.
Alice was employed as a nurse’s aide at Hillsdale Medical Care Facility, retiring in September 1982. She formerly attended Rollin Baptist Church.
Alice is survived by one son, Clifford (and Janet) Kingsley of Adrian; three daughters, Dolores (and Earl) Ferguson of Fayette, Carolee (and Robert) Isaacson of Whitehouse, Ohio, and Phyllis Elaine (and John) Vanderstel of Middleville, Mich.; a son-in-law, Charles E. Beal of Hudson; two sisters, Maxine (and Marvin) Benjamin and Phyllis Keiper, both of Marshall, Mich.; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; and three step-great-grandsons.
Besides her husband, Alice was preceded in death by a daughter, Carla Beal; a son, in infancy; three brothers, Harold, Carl and Lester Bowers; six sisters, Lucy Hammel, Marie LaFollette, Dorothy Salamin, Evelyn Billings, Geraldine Hornbeck and Connie Bowers.
At Alice’s request, cremation has taken place. Memorial services were March 25 at Christ Redeemer Lutheran Church with Rev. Richard Rentner officiating. Burial will be scheduled at a later date in Church’s Corners Cemetery.
