She was born March 22, 1926, in Podunk, Mich., the daughter of James and Lela (Ballard) Clark. On Aug. 11, 1944, in Adrian, she married Clair Sower and he survives.
Deen was formerly employed at Peter Stamping in Fayette, Ohio, from where she retired in 1987, after 20 years of service. She attended the Lauber Hill Reformed Mennonite Church near Burlington, Ohio. Her favorite hobbies were gardening, flowers and crossword puzzles.
Besides her husband, Clair, Deen is survived by two daughters, Suzanne (and Michael) Adams of Canandaigua, Mich., and Kay (and Doug) Miller of the Irish Hills; three sons, Charles (and Janice) Sower of Holt, Mich., Donald (and Lois) Sower of Adrian, and Steven Sower of Cottonwood, Ariz.; two sisters, Donna (and Lloyd) Bice of Clayton, Mich., and Shirley Risner and Alex Kampf of Birch Run; a brother, Brian (and Wanda) Clark of Jasper, Mich.; seven grandchildren, Deana, Craig, Jeremy, Angela, Jacob, Jason and Jenna; and eight great-grandchildren, Callie, Caleb, Caylan, Kelsie, Kendal, Kyla, Jaron and Marissa.
Deen was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Wilma Waltz, Glenna Waldfogel and June Cornin; and one brother, James Clark.
Funeral service are scheduled at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 25, at the Lauber Hill Reformed Mennonite Church near Burlington, Ohio, with Robert and Oakley Myers officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation is planned at the Eagle Funeral Home-Charles Fink Chapel in Morenci from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.
