Phillip Henry Goodlock, 85, of Hudson, Mich., died March 3, 2007. He was the oldest living member of the Goodlock family.

He was born July 6, 1921, in Hudson, to Arthur Lewis and Veda May (Harley) Goodlock. He married Bonnie Mae Taylor on Dec. 7, 1946, and she preceded him in death Feb. 17, 1985.

Phillip served in the U.S. Army from December 1942 until January 1946, with a tour of duty in Hawaii during the Pearl Harbor attack. He was employed by Stubnutz Green for 40 years, retiring in July 1979.

Phillip is survived by three sons, Philip “P-Nut” (and Sheri) Goodlock and Eugene “Shorty” (and Becky) Goodlock, both of Hillsdale, Mich., and Duwayne “Tater” (and Nancy) Goodlock of Clayton; five daughters, Brenda (and John) Baker of Hudson, Sylvia (and Larry) Shearer of Harrison, Mich., Hilda McCarley of Morenci, Linda (and Gary) Hill of Spanaway, Wash., and Cynthia (and Norman) Maxson of Pittsford; a brother, Milford (and Luliville) Goodlock of Clayton; a sister, Ione (and Larry) Schmucker of Pioneer, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Carolyn Goodlock of Hudson; a brother-in-law, Robert Sommerlott of Jacksonville, Fla.; 18 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his wife, Phillip was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Clifford and Harley Goodlock; and three sisters, Violet Cox, Vena Sommerlott and Evelyn Goodlock.

Funeral services are scheduled at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, at Anderson Funeral Home in Adrian with Rev. Lloyd Jewett officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Hudson with full graveside military rites conducted by the Hudson American Legion, Hannan-Colvin Post #180.

Visitation is planned from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 5 at Anderson’s.
