Merle Clark, 76, of County Road 16-3, Fayette, Ohio, died Jan. 23, 2007, at the Fulton County Health Center in Wauseon, Ohio.
He was born Sept. 17, 1930, in Amboy Township, the son of Ernest and Cynthia (Day) Clark. He married Berneta Sprague on March 3, 1951, in Waldron, Mich., and she survives.
Merle graduated from Pioneer High School in Pioneer, Ohio, in 1948, and attended Michigan State University for one year.
He was skilled in machine repair and was employed at the American National Can in Whitehouse, Ohio, retiring in 1992, after 19 years of service. He was a member of The New Apostolic Church in Morenci.
Besides his wife, Merle is survived by three daughters, Phyllis (and Mike) Miller of Morenci, Chris Hager of Florida, and Luvena (and Ben) Ripke of Ridgeville Corners, Ohio; two sons, Lyle (and Gayle) Clark of Hillsdale, and Bruce (and Tammy) Clark of Fayette; a sister, Thelma (and Max) Kirkenburg of Hillsdale; a brother, Doyle (and Theresa) Clark of Hillsdale; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Allen B. Clark, in infancy; a granddaughter, Chelsea Lynn Clark; and a brother, Dean.
Following Merle's request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Arrangements were handled by Eagle Funeral Home-Charles Fink Chapel in Morenci.
