Leslie Christenson, 88, of Fayette, Ohio, died March 28, 2012, at home.
He was born Dec. 14, 1923, in Fairfield Township, Mich., the son of Lawrence and Vera (Nichols) Christenson. On Sept. 21, 1945, in Angola, Ind., he married Luella A. Raker. She preceded him in death Jan. 20, 2012.
Leslie lived in the Morenci/Lyons/Fayette area all of his life. He was a farmer and formerly employed at Morenci Rubber Products.
Leslie loved the outdoors, camping, fishing and gardening.
He is survived by a daughter, Judith (and Kenneth) Derflinger of Fayette; two sons, Tom (and Nancy) Christenson of Morenci, Mich., and Ted (and Lynne) Christenson of Louisville, Ky.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and his seven “special girls,” Gwenda Eichler, Tanya Cox, Sandra Whipple, Mandi Lampley, Krystal Miles, Amy Harris and Lisa Bible.
Besides his wife, Leslie was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Lucinda Bennett; a sister, Ida Wagler; and a brother, Robert Christenson.
Funeral services are planned at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 31, at the Eagle Funeral Home-Charles Fink Chapel in Morenci, with Rev. Lynn Kerr officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Morenci.
Visitation is scheduled from 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday and on Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service.
