William L. Martin, 65, of Jerome, Mich., and formerly of the Clayton area, died Monday, Jan. 15, 2007, at University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor.
He was born Dec. 2, 1941, in Morenci, Mich., to John B. and Louise M. (Hartung) Martin. He married Regina A. Warner on Oct. 24, 1964, in Deerfield, Mich., and she survives.
Bill was employed at General Motors in Adrian and retired in 1998 with more than 33 years of service. He graduated from Catholic Central High School in 1960, was a member of St. Rita's Catholic Church in Clark Lake, Mich., and a former member St. Joseph Catholic Church in Adrian and Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hudson. He was a member of the Moose and Eagles in Adrian.
Surviving are one son, Wayne (and Paula) Martin of Adrian, Mich.; two daughters, Bernadette (and Chan) Barrett of Pittsford, Mich., and Joan Graham of Howell, Mich.; two brothers, Ed (and Shirley) Martin and John "Jack" (and Nancy) Martin, all of Adrian; four sisters, Rosemary Case, Barbara Ferris and Sister Patricia Martin O.P., all of Adrian, and Martha (and Paul) Monahan of Hudson, Mich.; and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Dolores Figy.
Mass of Christian Burial is planned at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 19, with Fr. Richard Eberle as celebrant. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Hudson.
Visitation is scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday with a Vigil Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m. at the Eagle Funeral Home in Hudson.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
