Jerry Lee Justus, 66, of Fayette, Ohio, formerly of Addison, Mich., died Dec. 30, 2011, at Swan Pointe Care Center in Maumee, Ohio.
He was born Sept. 11, 1945, in Hudson, Mich., the son of Birchard R. and Wilma M. (Murphy) Justus.
Jerry served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He worked at Clark Equipment in Jackson, Mich., and TRW in Fayette, retiring in 2007 after 41 years. He was a member of the Rollin Baptist Church where he was baptized when he was 16 years old. He enjoyed playing guitar, writing music, fishing, riding motorcycles, and planting a garden and flowers.
Jerry is survived by two sons, Joseph Justus of Springfield, Tenn., and James (and Lou Ann) Justus of Cement City, Mich.; one daughter, Jodie (and Max) Kolby of Fairview, Tenn.; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Eugene Justus of Plymouth, Mich.; one sister, Janet (and Harvey) Keast of Litchfield, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and twin brother, Larry Justus.
Funeral services are scheduled at 11 a.m. Jan. 5, at Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Hudson, with Pastor Terry Alverson officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery in Hudson with full military honors conducted by American Legion Hannan-Colvin Post #180 of Hudson. Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Jan. 4 at the funeral home.
