Frank Stover, 84, of Morenci, Mich., died Dec. 3, 2011, at the Lenawee Medical Care Facility in Adrian, Mich.
He was born June 21, 1927, in Artie, W. Va., the son of Tom and Violet (Stover) Neil. On April 14, 1951, in Beckley, W. Va., he married JoAnn Seacrist and she survives.
Frank was a miner and a truck driver hauling lumber and coal before moving to Michigan in 1961. He worked at Perfection Finishing Co. in Wauseon, Ohio, for six years and at Harvey Aluminum in Adrian from where he retired in 1967. Frank served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the Northwest Church of Christ in Wauseon and a member of the Morenci American Legion Post #368. Frank served on the City of Morenci planning commision and was involved in the Morenci Little League as coach and manager and later become the president.
Besides his wife, Frank is survived by two daughters, Cheryl (and Michael) Cook of Adrian and Christi Crowell of Morenci; four sons, Frank R. Stover of Fayette, Ohio, Steven Stover of Medina, Mich., Keith Stover of Fayette, and Eddie Stover of Morenci; 22 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Muriel Jarrell of Fayetteville, W. Va., and Doretta Jarrell of Prosperity, W. Va.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Rebecca Lynn Stover, in infancy; a granddaughter, Brett Autumn Stover; nine sisters; and two brothers.
Funeral services are planned at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, at Eagle Funeral Home-Charles Fink Chapel in Morenci, with Brother Tom Meade officiating. Visitation is scheduled from 2 p.m. until the time of service.
