Ada Pauline Schrock, 88, of Archbold, Ohio, died Nov. 24, 2011, at Greencroft Health Center in Goshen, Ind.

She was born June 26, 1923, near Pettisville, Ohio, the daughter of Aaron and Anna (Rupp) Frey. She married Joseph M. Schrock on Aug. 12, 1950, and he preceded her in death Dec. 24, 2000.

Ada and Joe operated her father’s farm near Pettisville until 1964, when they moved with their five children to Zone, Ohio. She and the children then assisted Joe with the care and maintenance of the Franklin Township School.

After retirement, Ada and Joe moved to Archbold. She was a charter member and elder of Zion Mennonite Church.

Ada is survived by five children, Joseph S. (and Mary) Schrock of Goshen, Ind., Thomas (and Cheryl) Schrock of Adrian, Mich., Norma (and Bruce) Hershberger of Canton, Ohio, Ann Mooney of Portland, Ore., and Douglas (and Sarah) Schrock of Fayette; 10 grandchildren; and one sister, Velma Kamp of Archbold.

Besides her husband, Ada was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Aurelius, Elias, Jesse and A. Dale Frey; and six sisters, Mary Louise Frey, Agnes Schmucker, Violet Aeschliman, Bertha Stuckey, Grace Short and Ivah Beck.

Graveside services are planned at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, in Pettisville Cemetery, followed by memorial services at 11 a.m. at Zion Mennonite Church, with Pastors Jeff Kauffman and Mona Sauder officiating. Visitation is scheduled today (Monday) from 2 to 8 p.m. at Zion Mennonite Church Fellowship Hall.
