Laona Myers, 91, of S. Gorham St., Fayette, Ohio, died Friday, Dec. 8, 2006, at the Fulton Manor in Wauseon.
She was born in Fayette Sept. 7, 1915, the daughter of Charles and Mable (Ely) Weber. On Nov. 14, 1935, in Angola, Ind., she married Jesse William Myers. He preceded her in death Oct. 21, 1994.
Laona “Onie” was a lifelong resident of Fayette. She was formerly employed at the Peters Stamping Company in Fayette, from where she retired in 1981.
She was a member of Eastern Star for 51 years. She enjoyed crocheting, crafts, canning, and playing cards with family and friends. She loved the local county fairs and the Bull Thistle celebration and took much pride in her family.
Survivors include a son, Dean (and Shelley) Myers of Fayette; five grandchildren, Brian (and Jolene) Myers, Becky (and Matt) Hyland, Shane Myers, Mandy (and Mark) Avery and Dusty Timberman; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, Jesse, Laona was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Ruth Weber; and a brother, Harold Weber.
Visitation is planned from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Funeral service are planned at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 11, at the Eagle Funeral Home-Fayette Chapel with pastor Paul Webster officiating. Burial will follow at the Pleasant View Union Cemetery in Fayette.
