Jerry Victor Tejkl, 64, of Lyons, Ohio, died Nov. 29, 2006, at Bixby Medical Center in Adrian, Mich.
He was born Dec. 25, 1941, in Toledo, Ohio, the son of John and Anna (Pokornik) Tejkl. On Jan. 18, 1980, in Adrian, he married Joan Blackburn and she survives.
Jerry died from complications relating to diabetes.
He was employed at Metalloy Corporation (foundry division) and retired after 37 years of service. He was known as a very devoted family man and faithful to all of his many friends.
Jerry was the father of six children: Brian (and Becky) Tejkl, Mark (and Flip) Tejkl, John (and Amy) Rice, Jamie (and Michelle) Rice, Nikki (Tejkl) Valentine (and Jeff Boger), Jennie (Tejkl) Coopshaw and (Jay Coopshaw) and 14 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and former wife, Joyce Carpenter-Tejkl.
Jerry’s life will be celebrated Saturday, Dec. 2, from noon to 3 p.m at the Friendship Hall next to Lyons Christian Church. Family and friends are encouraged to bring memories, stories and pictures to share.
Funeral arrangements were handled through Eagle Funeral Home-Charles Fink Chapel in Morenci.
