Mary A. Ledyard, 78, of Fayette, Ohio, died July 24, 2011, surrounded by her family at the home of her daughter in Pioneer, Ohio.
She was born Nov. 14, 1932, in Ottokee, Ohio, the daughter of Andrew J. “Jack” and Sylvia P. (Eby) Viers. She married Lyle Ledyard in Fayette in 1971 and he preceded her in death in 1993.
Mary was a lifelong resident of Fayette. She retired from Sheridan Manufacturing and in recent years worked at Pioneer Custom Coating. She was a member of the Fayette Church of the Nazarene and enjoyed Bible study and praying for those in need. Mary also enjoyed working in her flowers beds. Mary loved her family and spent much of her time with them.
Mary is survived by her eight children, Dan (and Sharon) Groves, Jack (and Donna) Groves, both of Archbold, Ohio, Larry (and Mary Jo) Ledyard of Fayette, Michael (and Marisol) Groves of Mexico, Ind., David (and Grace) Groves of Parrish, Ala., Glenda (and Bob) Johnson of Hudson, Ind., Merry (and Denny) Sentle of Pioneer, and Carol (and Thad) Chodakauskas of Norko, Calif.; 21 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Robert and Roger Viers; and two grandsons, Shawn and James Groves.
Funeral services are planned at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, July 28, at the Fayette Church of the Nazarene, with Pastor Paul Baker and Pastor Scott Coats officiating. Interment will follow in Floral Grove Cemetery in Pioneer, Ohio. Visitation is scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Eagle Funeral Home in Fayette.
