Ruth I. Mann, 86, died July 6, 2011, while surrounded by family.
Ruth was born April 21, 1925, in Toledo, Ohio. She worked as a waitress at White City and Smith’s Restaurant. She retired from Florida Power in Sebring, Fla. Ruth was well-known for her pies and cookies, and her family fondly remembers her molasses and sugar cookies.
She was a member of the Rebeccas and the Farm Bureau, and she enjoyed bowling. She served as a choir director who loved singing. She sang in a trio with her sisters, Vonda and Ila, at weddings and other events.
Ruth is survived by her son, Paul R. (and Pamela) Mann of Lyons, Ohio; her daughter, Charlene M. Carr of Orlando, Fla.; her sisters, Ila Wyse and Vonda (and Carl) Pennington; and her brothers, Tony Miller and Dannie (and Norma) Miller; eight grandchildren, Derick (and Jennifer) Mann, Bryan (and Dawn) Mann, Regina (and Eric) Mitchey, Jason Mann, Jennifer (and Jeremy) Gonzalez, Ed Carr, John (and Carrie) Carr and Heather Carr; 15 great-grandchildren, Matthew, Logan, Maggie, Thomas, Mckenzie, Remington, Cody, Dalton, Hailey, Lauren, Eddie, Gracie, Madelyn, Makayla and Audriana.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul H. Mann; her parents, Willis and Jennie; and her brothers, Willie and Ed Miller.
Memorial services are planned at 11 a.m. July 23 at the Lyons Christian Church.
