Howard Henry Bretthauer, 54, of Coldwater, Mich., and formerly of Waldron, Mich., died March 13, 2011, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minn.
He was born April 15, 1956, in Morenci, Mich., to the late Howard Henry and Thelma (Bracey) Bretthauer. He married Debbie Hurst on Jan. 7, 1977, in Munson, Mich., and she survives.
Howard was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and ice-fishing. He was formerly employed at Dayton-Walther in Fayette.
Surviving Howard besides his wife are two sons, Henry (and Heidi) Bretthauer of Coldwater, and Jason Bretthauer of Elizabethtown, Tenn.; a brother, Larry Bretthauer of Florida; three grandchildren, James and Ashleigh Bretthauer, and one on the way; and a step-grandchild, Christian Howe.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister in infancy, Maxine Gay June Bretthauer.
A graveside service is planned at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 19, at Pleasant View Union Cemetery in Fayette. At Howard’s request, there will be no visitation. Arrangements were made by Eagle Funeral Home-Barrett Chapel in Fayette.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the family (in care of Eagle Funeral Home) to aid in funeral expenses.
