Jerry “Butch” L. Dickens, 51, of W. Weston Road, Morenci, Mich., died Nov. 7, 2006 at his home.

He was born Aug. 4, 1955, in Hudson, Mich., the son of Lynn and Joan (Richey) Dickens. He graduated from Dover High School in Dover, Ohio, and was a member of the Carpenter’s Union Local #248 in Toledo, Ohio. He enjoyed NASCAR racing, scuba diving and was a Miami Hurricanes fan.

Butch is survived by a daughter, Lynsey Dickens of Morenci; his mother, Joan Minor, of New Philadelphia, Ohio; his father, Jerry (and Maxine) Dickens, of Grand Island, Fla.; two sisters, Cynthia Bair, of Massillon, Ohio, and Melinda (and Kevin) Wagner, of New Philadelphia,  Ohio; a brother, Michael (and Lisa) Dickens, of Westerville, Ohio; two nieces, Stefanie (and Jeremy) Thiessen and Taylor Dickens; two nephews, Nathan Bair and Ian Dickens and a great-niece, Erin Thiessen.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Doris Dickens, and his grandfather, Arthur Richey.

At Butch’s request, cremation has taken place and no visitation is planned. A private family service will be scheduled at a later date.

Arrangements were handled by Eagle Funeral Home-Charles Fink Chapel in Morenci.
