Larry R. Reynolds, 63, of Lorain, Ohio, died Feb. 15, 2011, at the Cleveland Clinic following a lengthy illness.
Larry was born May 28, 1947, in Pikeville, Ky., to the late James and Lassie (Charles) Reynolds. He moved to Lorain in 1974 and resided there ever since.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, working in Germany as a medic. Larry worked as a supervisor at the Elyria Foundry for 14 years, retiring in 2003.
He attended Beacon Baptist Church in Lorain. He enjoyed watching and attending NASCAR races, fishing and shooting pool and playing golf. His greatest joy was found in the moments he spent with his family.
He is survived by his wife Babette “Barb” (Stewart); daughters, Tamara (and Robert) Igoe, Lynna Donofrio, and Tara Reynolds, all of Lorain, Tonya Atwood of Clayton, Mich., and Tracey (and Kevin) Vess, of Roanoke, Va.; sons, Nathaniel, at home, Craig (and Krystal) Jones, of Clayton, and Marc (and Angela) Blanden, of Lorain; 21 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; brothers, Charles (and Celeste), of Fayette, Ohio, Donald (and Maxine) and Jerry (and Bonnie), both of Wauseon, Ohio, and Greg (and Peggy), of Ashcamp, Ky.; and sisters, Margaret “Helen” (and Robert) Bates, of Wauseon, and Louella (and James) Fields of Fayette.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant brother, Billy James Reynolds, in 1936.
Funeral services are planned at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 18, at Reber Jones Funeral & Cremation Center in Amherst, Ohio, with Pastor Dean Van Farowe of Calvary Reformed Church officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Lorain.
