Gillespie, Clara Belle "Pete"

Clara Belle “Pete” Gillespie, 74, of Morenci, Mich., died Feb. 10, 2011, of a heart attack at the Fulton County Health Center in Wauseon, Ohio.

She was born June 11, 1936, in Seneca Township, Mich., the daughter of Carl and Emma (Cline) Clark.  On June 11, 1954, in Seward, Ohio, she married Leroy Gillespie and he survives.

Pete worked at Clark’s Ice Cream Bar (owned by her parents) as a waitress and cook in her early years.  She was a homemaker and was known as a very good cook—something she thoroughly enjoyed.  She had a life long membership at the Morenci Sportsman’s Club.

Besides her husband, Pete is survived by two sons, Richard and Robin, both of Morenci; two grandchildren, Michael and Amie; two great-grandsons, Hunter and Nolan; two sisters, Betty Damman of Lyons, Ohio, and Joyce Shulters of Morenci; and several nieces and nephews.

At Pete’s request, cremation has taken place. There will be no funeral, visitation or viewing.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the family for distribution.

Arrangements were through the Eagle Funeral Home-Charles Fink Chapel in Morenci.
