Ida May Ort, 84, of Holland, Ohio, formerly of Morenci, died Oct. 16, 2006, at Spring Meadows Extended Care Facility in Holland, Ohio.

She was born July 24, 1922, in Fairfield Township, the daughter of Charles and Rachel (Ritchey) Clymer. She married Charles Ort on Nov. 12, 1938 in Wauseon, Ohio, and he preceded her in death May 12, 1996.

Ida had lived in Morenci for more than 50 years. She was employed as a housekeeper at Morenci Area Hospital, retiring after 18 years of service. Ida was a member of the Morenci Grange for more than 50 years.

Ida is survived by two daughters, Cynthia Ort of Ypsilanti, Mich., and Anita Ort of Grand Rapids, Ohio; two sisters, Naomi Speelman and Verena Glendening, both of Morenci, and two brothers, Francis Clymer of Morenci and Harvey Clymer of Orman Beach, Fla.

Besides her husband, Ida was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Wanda Clymer and Mabel Cameron, and five brothers, Paul, Amol, James, Russell and Charles Clymer.

Funeral services are scheduled at 11 a.m. Thursday at Eagle Funeral Home-Charles Fink Chapel in Morenci with Rev. William VanValkenburg officiating. Visitation is planned from 5 to 8 p.m. today (Wednesday). Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Morenci at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
