Billy C. Amos, 63, of Fayette, Ohio, died Dec. 15, 2010, at Toledo Hospital.
He was born April 30, 1947, in Cricket County, N.C., to the late Quincy and Nettie (Bentley) Amos. He married Kathy Lichtenwald on Nov. 8, 1969, in Medina, Mich., and she survives.
Bill grew up in the Morenci, Mich., area and attended Morenci schools. He retired from TRW Automotive in Fayette. He is remembered for his love of working on lawn mowers with his two grandsons, and restoring old cars, most notably his ’36 Chevy two-door sedan. He was an avid camper, loved to fish, and enjoyed spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by his daughter, Lorianne Amos of Fayette; two grandsons, Travis and Trevor McClain; three sisters, Grace (and Jerry) Schlicht of Morenci, Polly (and Robert) Johnson of Fairfield, Mich., and Patricia (and Mike) Henley of Manitou Beach, Mich.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Garnet and LeRoy; and sisters, Margaret, Darlene, and Shirley.
Funeral services are planned at noon Saturday, Dec. 18, at the Eagle Funeral Home-Barrett Chapel in Fayette, with Pastor Winston Hatcliff officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant View Union Cemetery in Fayette. Visitation is scheduled from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
