He was born June 20, 1920, in Fulton County, Ohio, the son of Ira and Isa Jones. He served in the Army Air Corp’s Pacific theatre during World War II and retired from working as an insurance agent for AFLAC. He had lived in Oakshade, Ohio, Monroe City, Ind., and St. Petersburg, Fla.
Ralph is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ila Fay (Kinter); a brother, Maurice Jones of Wauseon, Ohio; and children James Jones of Florida, daughter-in-law Judy Jones of Denver, John (and Patsy) Jones of Knightsdale, N.C., Kathy Smith of Vincennes, Ind., and Lou (and Verna) Jones of New Palestine, Ind. He is also survived by grandchildren Carl Jones, Tiffany Snyder, Danny Jones, Theresa Staab, Wendy Jo Smith, Chad Smith, Adam Jones, Jennifer Downing and Kimberly Jones; four great-grand children and numerous nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by a son, Fred Jones, and a son-in-law, Mike Smith.
