Larry E. Fredrick, 66, of Coldwater, Mich., and formerly of Fayette, Ohio, died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010 at his home.

Larry was born March 30, 1944, to Von Dana and LaJean (Martin) Fredrick in Morenci, Mich. He was raised in Fayette and graduated from Fayette High School in 1962. He married his high school sweetheart, Louise Leininger, on Sept. 12, 1964, at the Fayette Christian Church, where they are still members.

Larry and Louise moved to Sullivan, Ill., in 1987 and then to Coldwater, Mich., in 1990. Larry worked as an engineer at Fayette Tubular Corporation for many years before going to work for G & J Tube, formerly Jonesville Products. He retired from G & J in 2009 after 20 years of service.

Larry was very involved in his community throughout the years. He was named “Fayette Citizen of the Year” in 1987 and was given the Phillips-Schrock Community Service Award. He served on the Fayette Park Board and Fayette Fine Arts Council, and was a member of the Jaycees. He served as church treasurer for many years.  In the past two years, Larry, along with his wife, served as dance instructors in the Branch County area.

Larry enjoyed dancing, fishing, golfing and helping his wife in the garden. He was a big fan of the Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Browns and the Ohio State University teams. His greatest love in his life was spending cherished time with his children and grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Larry is survived by one son, Leslie (and Lori) Fredrick of Archbold, Ohio; a daughter Lisa, (and Mike) Tietje of Berkey, Ohio; a sister Pamela (and Ken) Hibbard of Fayette; and grandchildren, Emily Fredrick, Kevin Fredrick, Stacia Tietje and Allison Tietje.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Patricia Lane.

Funeral services are planned at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, at the Fayette Christian Church (Disciples), with Tom Spiess and Pastor Gene Sugg officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant View Union Cemetery in Fayette. Visitation is scheduled from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater. An additional visitation is planned from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5, at Eagle Funeral Home-Barrett Chapel in Fayette.

 Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society or the Fayette Christian Church (Disciples).
