Lee Collins, 69, died July 6, 2010, at his son’s home in Bryan, Ohio, surrounded by his family.
He was born March 24, 1941, in Danville, Ky., to Fred and Cordie (Turner) Collins. He married Sandy Stubbins on Nov. 19, 1960, at West Rome Baptist Church, and she survives.
Lee worked at Hydro Aluminum for 35 years. He attended Jasper Bible Church and was a member of the Moose Lodge. He was an avid golfer and made many trips to Myrtle Beach with his friends. Above all, Lee was a family man and loved attending his grandchildren’s activities.
Besides his wife, Lee is survived by his children, Robert Collins of Sylvania, Ohio, Richard (and Kristy) Collins of Adrian, Mich., Kimberley (and Ken) Rau of Sylvania, Lee (and Kathy) Collins, Jr., of Rockford, Mich., Russell (and Lisa) Collins of Bryan, Heather (and Joe) Downs of Manitou Beach, Mich., and Gary (and Kim) Collins of Sylvania; 13 grandchildren, Jake, Kylee, Nick, Drew, Brent, Alex, Benjamin, Caleb, Chandler, Lyndrea, Lucas, Lexi and Landen; siblings, Beulah (and Lawrence) Griewahn of Adrian, Christine Murphy of Cincinnati, Shirley (and Charlie) Sullivan of Winter Haven, Fla., and George (and Pat) Collins of Palm Desert, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Blanche Parker.
Funeral services are scheduled at 3 p.m. Friday, July 9, at Wagley Funeral Home in Adrian, with Rev. Bruce Jewett officiating. Burial will follow in North Rome Cemetery. Visitation is planned from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
