Hazel Greenfield, 92, of Adrian, Mich., died Dec. 8, 2009, at home.
She was born April 24, 1917, in Shull's Mills, N. Carolina, the daughter of Smith and Emma (Brown) Sluder. She married Hollis Scott in 1936 and he preceded her in death in 1942. Hazel then married Guy Greenfield in 1949, and he also preceded her in death in 1984.
Hazel lived in Adrian since September 2009, after moving from a house near Seneca. She was employed as a secretary for various companies in Adrian, retiring from American Chain & Cable in 1975. She was a member of the Weston First Baptist Church.
Hazel is survived by a daughter, Anita (and James) McMunn of Seneca; three grandchildren, Kevin McMunn of Circleville, Ohio, Michelle McMunn of Adrian and Laura McClain of Hudson; two great-granddaughters, Sarah McClain and Rebecca McMunn; three sisters, Lucy Walters of Hudson, N.C., and Vergie Hampton and Jerri Hayden both of Johnson City, Tenn.; and six brothers, Robert (and Bonnie) Sluder and Ronald (and Willamae) Sluder, both of Newland, N. C., Harold (and Hazel) Sluder of Marion, N. C., Ray (and Sarah) Sluder, of Macon, Ga., Bill (and Pauline) Sluder of Gray, Tenn. and Kenneth (and Helen) Sluder of Unicoi, Tenn.
Besides her husbands, Hazel was preceded in death by a daughter, Norma, in infancy; and a sister, Edith Sluder.
Funeral services are scheduled at 11 a.m. December 11 at Eagle Funeral Home-Charles Fink Chapel in Morenci with Rev. Duane Cross and Fr. Pat officiating. Burial will follow in Porter-Packard Cemetery near Seneca. Visitation is planned from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday.
