Robert George Cochrane, 64, died Aug. 29 in Goshen, Ind., after a truck-train accident on County Road 142, New Paris, Ind.
He was born June 2, 1942, in Hillsdale, Mich., to Herbert “Bill” and Irene (Aemisegger) Cochrane. He married Cherie Boyd Feb. 16, 1964. She survives.
He was a 1960 graduate of Quincy High School and had been employed as an excavation contractor and produce broker.
He attended Lockwood Community Church and had belonged to the Optimist Club, Elks, FFA and Chamber of Commerce. He had also served on the Algansee Township board of trustees.
Surviving are his parents of Morenci, Mich.; a daughter, Chantal E. (and James) Paxton, Norfolk, Va.; a son, Todd R. (Shoko) Cochrane, Honolulu, Hawaii; three sisters, Sharon (and Ernie) Hicks and Beverly (and Don) Zuvers, both of Morenci, and Carol (and Larry) Clymer, Wauseon, Ohio; a brother, Gary (and Tammy) Cochrane, Wauseon, Ohio; and eight grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the George White Funeral Home, Quincy.
The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Shane Looper officiating.
Burial will be in Fisher Hill Cemetery, Algansee Township.
