Kenneth Punches, 94, of Morenci, Mich., died Nov. 15, 2009, at Tendercare Health Care Center in Adrian, Mich.
He was born Sept. 4, 1915, in Oak Shade, Ohio, the son of George and Alice (Ruhley) Punches. On July 10, 1945, in Morenci he married Rosie (Schoonover) Vernier. She preceded him in death Jan. 2, 2002.
Kenneth lived in the Morenci area all of his life, where he was a member of the Morenci Church of the Nazarene. He was formerly employed by Morenci Rubber Products, where he retired in 1980. Kenneth was a veteran of World War II, serving from June 1941 through September 1945.
Survivors include a step-daughter, Darlene King, of Bryan, Ohio; three step-sons, Duane (and Janet) Vernier of Oklahoma, Jackie (and Jeanette) Vernier of Peoria, Ill., and Devon (and Virginia) Vernier of Jasper, Mich.; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Joy Turner, Ila May Reckner and Goldie Hill.
A funeral service is planned at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, at the Eagle Funeral Home-Charles Fink Chapel in Morenci, with Rev. Dennis Owens officiating. Burial will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Morenci. Visitation begins at 10 a.m. Wednesday and continues until the time of service.
