Blanche E. Helinski, 81, of Waldron, Mich., died Saturday, Oct. 3, 2009, at the home of her son, Michael, in Edgerton, Ohio.
She was born March 13, 1928, in Pioneer, Ohio, the daughter of Martin Henry and Ruth Margret (Heckel) Johnston. She married Arthur George Helinski Sept. 28, 1946, in Waldron and he preceded her in death Nov. 9, 1989.
Blanche was employed by the U.S. Postal Service in Waldron and served for more than 19 years. She was a graduate of the Waldron High School Class of 1945. She was a volunteer for the Election Committee in Waldron for several years and dearly loved her children and grandchildren.
Surviving Blanche is one daughter, Keli (and Chad) Kernen of Locust Grove, Va.; one son, Mike (and Wanda) Helinski of Edgerton; one grandson, Craig (and Janeen) Helinski of Angola, Ind.; and two great-granddaughters, Kristen Helinski and Alisa Spangler.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one sister, O’Leene Carpenter.
Graveside services are planned at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, at Waldron Cemetery, with Rev. Donald Crane officiating. Visitation is scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Eagle Funeral Home in Waldron.
In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may make memorial contributions to Hospice of Fulton and Williams Counties.
