Wanda L. Tate, 57, of Fayette, Ohio, died Sunday, Sept. 13, 2009, at Archbold Hospital.
She was born March 20, 1952, in Calais, Maine, the daughter of Gene and Loyce (Sprague) Thornton. She married Raymond Tate Nov. 6, 1971, in Stratford, Conn., and he survives.
Wanda was formerly of Toledo, Ohio, and moved to the Fayette area in 2004. She graduated from Warren Harding High School Class of 1970, and was a member of the Foundation Stone Christian Church in Toledo.
Her hobbies included gardening and ceramics, and she dearly loved her children and grandchildren.
Surviving Wanda besides her husband, Raymond, are two sons, Micheal (and Tina) Tate of West Unity, Ohio, and Eric (and Anne) Tate of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; four grandchildren, Torie, Trent, Tayler and Trever; one sister, Barbara (and Ed) Cowell of Fayette; step-father, Howard Gerowe of Stratford, Conn.; and mother-in-law Muriel Tate of Fayette. She was preceded in death by her parents.
At Wanda's request, cremation has taken place and there will be no public visitation or services. Arrangements were made by Eagle Funeral Home-Barrett Chapel in Fayette.
