May I. Myers, 90, formerly of Hudson, Mich., died, Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2009, at Northern Lakes Nursing & Rehab Center in Angola, Ind.
She was born Dec. 18, 1918, in Jefferson Twp., Mich., the daughter of Jerry E. and Leora (Myers) Wright. She married Marvin Myers in Hudson Nov. 7, 1972, and he preceded her in death Jan. 9, 1989.
May had many hobbies. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, quilting, weaving rugs and singing gospel music.
Surviving May is one brother, Milton (and Doris) Wright of Fremont, Ind.; one sister-in-law, Viola (and Dennis) Jones of Bryan, Ohio; brother-in-law, Jerry Myers of Hillsdale, Mich.; several nieces and nephews, David (and Sharon) Wright of Hudson, Stephen (and Linda) Wright of North Carolina, Dixie (and David) Papsdorf of Kansas, Tina (and Bill) Godette of Florida, Kathleen (and Dr. Keith) Baker of Hillsdale, Sally (and Major Jeff) Sherman of Angola, Joni (and Donald) Hunt of Angola, and James Wright of Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one brother, Lawrence Wright; and step mother, Dorothy (Sands) Wright.
A funeral service is planned at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 4, at the Eagle Funeral Home-Barrett Chapel in Fayette with Rev. Dr. Samuel Wickard officiating. Interment will take place at Pleasant View Union Cemetery in Fayette, Ohio. Visitation is scheduled from noon until the time of service Friday at the funeral home.
