William Walker, 70, of Morenci, Mich., died Thursday, Aug. 13, 2009, at home.
He was born April 3, 1939, in Ameagle, W. Va., the son of Cecil and Helen (Warton) Walker. On Nov. 19, 1964, in Cleveland, Ohio, he married Ruby Rose and she survives.
William lived in Morenci the past five months, moving there from Cleveland, Ohio. He retired from Ford Motor Company in 2000, after 40 years of service.
Besides his wife, William is survived by a step son, Jim (and Carol) Eldridge of Ohio; a sister, Phyllis Dillon of Morenci; a brother, Cecil (and Joan) Walker of Beckley, W. Va.; a special niece, Marilyn Hitt of Morenci; and several nieces and nephews.
William was preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service is scheduled at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 15, at the Eagle Funeral Home-Charles Fink Chapel in Morenci, with Rev. Dennis Owens officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Morenci. Visitation is planned Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of service.
