Hope E. Kushmaul, 88, of Ransom Township, Mich., died Saturday, July 4, 2009, at her home.
She was born Nov. 17, 1920, in Wright Township, Mich., the seventh child of Howard F. and Anna L. (Heymann) Williams.
Hope was a homemaker and also worked at the Hudson Egg Exchange in Hudson and Coldwater. She graduated from Prattville High School in 1938, attended Betzer Community Church and was a member of the Women’s Missionary. She enjoyed her grandchildren, sewing, quilting and refinishing projects, until her later years. She also traveled to Europe with the Heymann family cousins and visited the ancestral village in Germany.
Surviving Hope are four children, Faith A. (and Wayne) Myers of Port Matilda, Pa., Joyce K. (and David) Emery of Rochester Hills, Mich., W. Thomas (and Barb) Kushmaul of Pittsford, Mich., and Joseph D. (and Linda) Kushmaul of Grand Blanc, Mich.; grandchildren, Lynn W. (and Kathy) Myers of Port Matilda, Pa., Kristina (and Paul) Vajda, of Bellville, Ill., Ian A. Myers of Sarasota, Fla., Nicole Emery of Newport, R.I., Andrea (and Steve) Torey of Macomb Twp., Mich., Laura Kushmaul of Hillsdale, Mich., Janice (and Gene) Sharpe of Pittsford, Mich., Bruce Kushmaul of Waldron, Mich., Karla Bolenbaugh of Pittsford, Mich., Jason (and Charisse) Kushmaul of Dewitt, Mich., and Iraq, and Angie (and Greg) Hogle of Clark Lake, Mich.; 15 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Adelaide Fellows, Leslie Taylor, Lenore Rhodes, Donald, Arnold and Lowell Williams; spouse, William M. Kushmaul in 1964; a niece and nephew.
Funeral services are planned at 11 a.m. Friday, July 10, at Eagle Funeral Home in Hudson, Mich., with Pastor Kim Repp officiating. Interment will follow in Prattville Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the charity of donor’s choice.
