Eula Irene Ferguson, 87, of North Fayette Street, Fayette, Ohio, died at her home July 3, 2009, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Ransom, Ky., Oct. 14, 1921, to William T. and Angie (Burke) Phillips. Eula married Roy B. Ferguson, Jr., on Jan. 17, 1943, in Virginia, and he preceded her in death Sept. 9, 1994.
Eula is remembered for her passion for keeping a clean house, and her desire to go shopping. She was employed by the former Fayette Tubular Products for more than 23 years, and was a member of the Fayette Bible Church.
Eula is survived by two sons, Roy (and Janis) Ferguson III of Fayette, and William Kenneth Ferguson of Jacksonville, Fla.; one sister, Edith Evans of Switzer, W.Va.; three granddaughters, Jennifer (and Todd) Rychner of Pettisville, Leesha (and Jeff) Cogan of Callahan, Fla., and Jana Wentz of Pettisville, Ohio; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband, Eula was preceded in death by a grandson, William Kenneth Ferguson, Jr., and nine of her siblings, Ethel May, Myrtle Phillips, Bonnie Hatfield, Tommy Carter, Orville Phillips, John Phillips, Arnold Phillips, Sherwood Phillips, and Denny Phillips.
Funeral services are scheduled at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 7, at the Eagle Funeral Home-Barrett Chapel in Fayette with Dr. Rev. Samuel Wickard officiating. Interment will follow at the Pleasant View Union Cemetery in Fayette.
Visitation is planned from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Hospital Hospice & Home Health division of the Bryan CHWC.
