Gerald “Jerry” Keith Morse, 74, of Waldron, Mich., died Aug. 1, 2006, at Hospice House of Mid-Michigan in Lansing, Mich., of complications from cancer.
He was born July 16, 1932 in Sand Creek, Mich., to Glen and Bessie (Bates) Morse. He served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1954. He earned a GED while he was in the Army.
Jerry worked as a truck driver for a dairy and then retired from Tecumseh Products in Tecumseh, Mich., in 1994, after 31 years of service. Jerry enjoyed fishing, listening to country music and spending time with family and friends.
Jerry is survived by seven children, Terese (and Richard) Morse-Aguilar of Denver, Colo., Tracy (and Julie) Morse of Hudson, Mich., Trent Morse of Waldron, Mich., Tonya Morse, J.D., of Ft. Collins, Colo., Tara Morse of Colorado Springs, Colo., Tina Kerin, J.D., of Cheyenne, Wyo., and Telaina (and Andrew) Eriksen of East Lansing, Mich.; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Arlene Sapien of Clare, Mich., Janice Gishpert of Mt. Pleasant, Mich., and Carolyn Rosencrans of Niles, Mich., and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a half-sister, Ethelan Ellsy; one brother, Maxon Morse; and one sister, Marjorie Keller.
Funeral services are at 1:30 p.m. Aug. 4 at Eagle Funeral Home in Hudson. Military interment by Hudson American Legion Hannan Colvin Post #180 will follow at Fairfield Cemetery in Fairfield, Mich. Visitation is planned on Aug. 4 from noon until the time of the service.
