Golda C. Williams, 100, of Fayette, Ohio, died Wednesday, May 6, 2009, at Fulton Manor in Wauseon.
She was born May 27, 1908, in Williams County, Ohio, to Edgar and Clara (Hutchinson) Mercer. She married Paul R. Williams on Dec. 22, 1926. He preceded her in death Aug. 25, 1975.
Goldie enjoyed cooking and playing cards. She was a member of the Fayette United Methodist Church and the Fayette Garden Club, and belonged to the American Legion Auxiliary for 60 years.
Surviving Goldie are one son, Wayne (and Verna) Williams, of Fayette; a daughter, Dorothy Clark, of Angola, Ind.; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, nine brothers, and her son-in-law, Brice Clark.
Funeral Services are scheduled at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 9, 2009, at the Eagle Funeral Home-Barrett Chapel in Fayette with Pastor Laura Clark officiating. Interment will follow at the Pleasant View Union Cemetery in Fayette. Visitation is planned from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday.
