Vivian Martin, 82, of Morenci, Mich., died Thursday, April 30, 2009, at Bixby Medical Center in Adrian, Mich.
She was born Aug. 8, 1926, in Fairfield Twp., Mich., the daughter of Irwin and Lillian (Williams) Hambrook. On September 6, 1947, in Sand Creek, Mich., she married John H. Martin. He preceded her in death Nov. 21, 1991.
Vivian was a graduate of Metamora High School. She lived most of her life in the Morenci area where she was a member of the Morenci First Baptist Church. She was formerly employed at Simplex in Adrian and at the former Fayette Tubular Products in Fayette, Ohio, from where she retired in 1989.
She is survived by a daughter, Rebecca (and Kim) Hiatt of Adrian; a son, John Michael Martin, of Waldron, Mich.; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Gladys Hinkle, of Lyons, Ohio.
Besides her husband, Vivian was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Mabel Brodbeck, Edrie Rogers, Velma Keith and Bertha Hambrook; and two brothers, Leland and Earl Hambrook.
Funeral service are scheduled at 11 a.m. Saturday, at the Morenci First Baptist Church, with Rev. Ned Newlin officiating. Burial will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Morenci. Visitation is planned from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Eagle Funeral Home-Charles Fink Chapel in Morenci.
