Thomas G. Miller, 59, of Alpena, Mich., died July 13, 2006.
He graduated from the University of Michigan and Central Michigan University where he received a master’s degree in education. Tom loved children. He worked as director of ESD and advocated for the rights of special needs children and parents.
Tom was a member of Word of Life Baptist Church, Alpena Kiwanis, Civic Theater and Marriage Encounter.
Tom is survived by his wife of 37 years, Rebecca; two sons, Brice (and Teresa) of Hudsonville and Gabe (and Amanda) of Oregon; one granddaughter, Olivia; his father, Kenneth Miller of Caseville; a sister, Donna (and Tom) Mansfield of Traverse City, Mich.; parents-in-law, Wally and Iola Borton of Morenci; a brother-in-law, Tom (and Robin) Borton of Morenci; sisters-in-law, Karrie (and David) Rydzinski of Adrian, Mich., Lorie (and Haines) Dennis of Davidson, Mich., and Shelly (and Peter) Larson of Holland, Mich., and 17 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Miller.
Funeral services have already taken place. Interment was in Oak Grove Cemetery in Morenci. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gideon Memorial Bible Fund or the children’s ministry at Word of Life Baptist Church in Alpena.
