Florence Thomas, 91, a life-long resident of the Morenci, Mich., area, died Sunday, March 22, 2009, at Lenawee Medical Care Facility in Adrian, Mich.
She was born Sept. 4, 1917, in Seneca Twp., Mich., the daughter of Arthur and Birdie E. (Deline) Kutzley. She married Cleve Thomas on April 16, 1937, in Morenci, and he preceded her in death April 22, 2006.
Surviving Florence is one daughter, Sharon (and Arnold) Ebersole of Eaton Rapids, Mich.; one son, Rocky Thomas of Canandaigua, Mich.; one brother, Lawrence (and Luva) Kutzley of Morenci; daughter-in-law, Jeannie Thomas of Morenci; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Larry Thomas; one brother, Burton Kutzley; six sisters, Ruth Keller, Pauline Zemlo, Myrna Smith, Velma Pulliama and Glenna Belle Lawson, and one in infancy.
Funeral services are scheduled at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, at Eagle Funeral Home–Charles Fink Chapel. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Morenci. Visitation is planned from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
