Joe Siegel, 89, of Pittsford, Mich., died Feb. 2, 2009, at his home.
He was born Dec. 26, 1919, the son of Joseph D. and Mae (Smith) Siegel. He married Ruth Hammond from Osseo, Mich., on June 27, 1941, and she survives.
Joe was a life-long farmer and was employed at Challenge and Cook in Bryan, Ohio, for more than 20 years. He was a graduate of Pittsford High School and member of Bird Lake Wesleyan Missionary Church.
Surviving Joe besides his wife are two sons, Larry (and Ruth) Siegel and Dave (and Linda) Siegel, both of Pittsford; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, Ray “Todd” Siegel of Toledo, Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Pauline Siegel of Florida and Lucille Siegel of Prattville, Mich.; and several nieces and nephews.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Frances Siegel in 1956; one son, Danny Siegel in 1978; one sister, Joy Siegel; three brothers, Jess, Jack and Byron “Ben” Siegel; and one grandson Bruce Siegel.
Funeral services are scheduled at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, at Bird Lake Wesleyan Missionary Church with Rev. Rick Maloyed officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Ransom Twp., Mich.
Visitation is planned from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Eagle Funeral Home in Hudson, Mich.
