Sharon Kay (King) Smith, 60, died Dec. 29, 2008, at Advance Care Hospital of Southern New Mexico in Las Cruces.
She was born July 11, 1948, in Wauseon, Ohio, to Ivan and Jean King. She attended Northwood Institute in Midland, Mich., completing studies in art and advertising.
Shari was a member of the St. Paul’s Methodist Church Women’s Circle, Relief Society, and a Boy Scout and Girl Scout leader. She enjoyed having her family around her, and loved to cook and collect cookbooks.
Shari is survived by her parents; her husband, Thomas Smith; children, Christopher, Angela, and Geoffrey; seven grandchildren; and siblings, Ivan King, Jr., and Jamie (King) Manning.
She was preceded in death by grandchildren Katie Ivey and Bobbie Fetherlin.
Memorial services were Jan. 2, 2009, at La Paz Graham’s Funeral Home in Las Cruces, New Mexico.
