Lillian May McVay, 92, of Morenci, Mich., died Nov. 1, 2008, at Lynwood Manor in Adrian, Mich.
She was born May 20, 1916, in Archbold, Ohio, the daughter of Arthur and Armeda (Grimm) Weber. She married Floyd G. McVay and he preceded her in death on July 28, 1963.
Lillian was a life-long Morenci area resident, a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hudson, Mich., and of the Medina Grange.
Surviving Lillian are three daughters, Mary (and John) Herr of Morenci, Annette McVay of Adrian and Cynthia McVay (and Andy Perez) of Whitmore Lake, Mich.; seven sons, Francis A. (and Norma) McVay of Flint, Mich., Floyd D. (and Mary Lou) McVay of Morenci, Allen J. McVay of Plymouth, Ind., Alvin “Dave” (and Mary Helen) McVay of Sylvania, Ohio, Gregory S. (and Jody) McVay of Chelsea, Mich., Doug A. McVay of Stryker, Ohio, and Mark A. McVay of Lorain, Ohio; a daughter in-law, Arlene McVay of Morenci; 36 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Norman McVay; one sister, Mary Sweigart; and four brothers, Louis, Arthur, Edwin and Orvil Weber.
Mass of Christian burial is scheduled at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 3, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hudson with Fr. Richard Eberle and Fr. H. Paul Ruddy as celebrants. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Hudson. Visitation is scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with a vigil prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at Eagle Funeral Home in Hudson.
In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may make memorial contributions to Fr. H. Paul Ruddy Endowment Fund.
