Charles C. Scott, 80, of Fayette, Ohio, died Aug. 26, 2008, at his home.
He was born June 24, 1928, in Keystone, W. Va., to Ben and Ethel (Belcher) Scott. He married Helen Asbury on Nov. 14, 1968, in Lebanon, Va., and she survives.
Charles retired from Harrison Lake State Park in 1991 after 11 years of service. He enjoyed blue grass music, cheering for the Atlanta Braves, and his children and grandchildren.
Besides his wife, he is survived by five daughters, Drema Contreras of Montpelier, Ohio, Kathy (and Eric) Cessac of West Unity, Ohio, Debbie (and Chazz) Prickett and Robin Spillman, both of Titusville, Fla., and Tammy (and Donald) Amos of Fayette; four stepchildren, Phyllis (and Tom) Smith of West Unity, Brenda (and Emmerson) Branham of Marquand, Mo., and Barb (and Don) Staffey and Rodger (and Debbie) Lawson, both of Fayette; one brother, Don Scott of Key Stone, W. Va.; one brother-in-law, Junior Asbury of Bluefield, W. Va.; 24 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Jack Johnson, Claude Johnson and Peyton Scott; and one sister, Laura Scott.
Funeral services are scheduled at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Eagle Funeral Home in Fayette with Rev. Sam Wickard and Rev. Winston Hatcliff officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Union Cemetery in Fayette.
Visitation is planned from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
