Erma Jean Meredith, 80, of Hudson, Mich., died Friday, July 25, 2008 at her home.
She was born Aug. 16, 1927, in Pittsford, Mich., to Alvin L. “Dick” and Madeline (Barrett) Timberman. She married Mark P. Meredith Oct. 25, 1948, in Hudson and he preceded her in death Dec.17, 2003.
Erma was a life-long Hudson area resident who was a graduate of Sacred Heart School. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Altar Rosary Society, the V.F.W. #1584 and the Hudson Garden Club. She was a past member of Hudson Friday Club and past president of Hudson American Legion Hannan Colvin Post #180 Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving are two daughters, Ann (and Thomas) Nieva of Pepperell, Mass., Catherine (and Bruce) Dumaw of Jonesville, Mich.; three sons, Stephen (and Sharon) Meredith of Tecumseh, Mich., Joseph “Jose” (and Becky) Meredith and Michael (and Debbie) Meredith, both of Hudson; five sisters, Grace Henry of Hudson, Barbara Renner of Hudson, Marie Schang of Bryan, Ohio, Bette Baron of Pittsford, Mich., and Kathy Timberman of Pittsford; one brother, Al Timberman of Pittsford; six grandchildren, Stephen, Scott and Chad Meredith, Jonda Borck, Bradley Durling and Nathaniel Nieva; three great-grandchildren, Bryanna and Braylyn Borck and Nicole Meredith; two step-grandchildren, Jennifer and LaTasha Peiffer; and three step-great-grandchildren, Isiah Krizek, Kylie Huber and Zackary Peiffer. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and one son, David.
Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled at 11 a.m. Monday, July 28, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. H. Paul Ruddy as celebrant. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Hudson. Visitation is planned from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, with a vigil prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at the Eagle Funeral Home in Hudson.
