Robert B. Ramey, Sr., 68, of Pittsford, Mich., July 14, 2008, at home.
He was born Aug. 16, 1939, in Albion, Mich., to Bernard and Cynthia (Doxsie) Ramey. In 1961, he married Mary Margaret Rizor, then on Nov. 29, 1968, he married Eloise A. (Kane) Harter in Temperance, Mich., and she survives.
Bob was owner and operator of Ramey Construction. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus Council #3221 in Hudson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and National Guard from 1958 to 1965. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, raising tropical fish and birds. He dearly loved his family.
Besides his wife, Bob is survived by eight children, Cindy Ramey of Hillsdale, Bob (and Valinda) Ramey, Jr., of North Adams, Debbie (and Tom) Brown of Illinois, James Ramey of Toledo, Ohio, Kimberly (and Rex) Murphy of Hudson, Cindy (and John) Webb of Pittsford, Jeff Ramey of Pittsford, and Rick (and Liz) Ramey of Hillsdale; two sisters, Sharon (and Charles) Maxey of Toledo, Ohio, and Phyllis Bennett of Jackson; two brothers, Larry (and Sue) Ramey of Toledo, Ohio, and Rusty (and Lisa) Krieger of Jackson; 21 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Mary Margaret.
Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled at 11 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Richard Eberle officiating. Military interment by Hudson American Legion Hannan Colvin Post #180 will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Hudson.
Visitation is planned from 4 to 8 p.m. today (Wednesday) at Eagle Funeral Home in Hudson. A Vigil Prayer Service is scheduled at 7:30 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hillsdale County Senior Center or to the Parkinson’s Association.
