Martin W. Richardson, 77, of Lyons, Ohio, died May 24, 2008, at Flower Hospital.
He was born Aug. 5, 1930, in Morenci, Mich., the son of James N. and Nellie J. (Smith) Richardson. He married Ruth E. Kistner Oct. 22, 1950, in Lyons, and she survives.
Martin was employed at American Chain and Cable, retiring in 1985 after 37½ years of employment. He was a member of the Lyons Fire Department from 1951 until 1975, serving on the First Aid Squad and teaching Basic Red Cross. He was also a member of the Jasper Bible Church, was a member of the Hitch Up and Go Club for 30 years, and was a lifetime member of the NCHA/FCRV Club since 1966. He enjoyed camping, arts and crafts.
Besides his wife, Martin is survived by his children, Martin Walter Richardson, Jr., of Three Rivers, Mich., Patty Ann Richardson of Toledo, Ohio, and Michael J. Richardson of Tampa, Fla.; one sister, Ruby (and Robert) Kime of Lyons, Ohio; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Jim Richardson; and three sisters, Dorothy Double, Marie Roth and Mary Hire.
Funeral services are scheduled Wednesday, May 28, at Anderson Funeral Home in Adrian, Mich., with Rev. Bruce Jewett and Rev Lloyd Jewett officiating. Burial will follow in Lyons Cemetery in Lyons, Ohio.
