Venita Anderson, 90, of Toledo, Ohio, died Jan. 16, 2008, at Swanton Health Care in Swanton, Ohio.
She was born March 11, 1917, in Morenci, Mich., to Clark and Ola D.L. (Crowe) Jones. She married Gordon F. Anderson on June 26, 1937, in Morenci. He preceded her in death Jan. 31, 2007.
Venita graduated from DeVilbiss High School Class of 1934, and was a 60-year member of Pilgrim Church. She was an accomplished seamstress and she enjoyed knitting, painting, gardening and quilting. Venita was described as a happy person, always had a smile and dearly loved her children and grandchildren.
Surviving Venita is one son, Richard (and Linda Wernet) Anderson, of Whitehouse, Ohio; one daughter, Pam (and Henry) Herschel of Toledo; two grandchildren, Meredith (and David) Hustwick and Craig Herschel, both of Toledo; one great-granddaughter, Madeline Anderson Hustwick; and one sister, Mildred Ross of Toledo.
Besides her husband, Venita was preceded in death by a son, James, in infancy; her parents; three sisters, Stella Jones, Hildegard Jones and Della Fidler; and one brother, Raynor Jones.
Funeral service are scheduled at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 22, at the Eagle Funeral Home-Charles Fink Chapel in Morenci with Chaplain Gordon Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Morenci. Visitation is planned from 1 p.m. until the time of service.
